Barcelona - What to see
< [1] 2 3 4 5 6 7 >

  The Ramblas
The Ramblas, which runs from the Plaça Catalunya to the Port; has been the heart of the city down through the centuries and today continues to be the most typical, popular and cosmopolitan of the city's streets.

  Liceu
Most famous theatre of the city (from 1847) and one of the most famous opera houses in the world.
It was developed by opera lovers of the city. It burned down in 1994 but was restored in all its glory.

  Plaza Real
Beautiful square just off the Ramblas with a fountain, palm trees and a lot of bars.
However it is also clear that the most glamorous days have passed.
In the evening and night it is the centre of the nightlife.

  La Boqueria
One of the oldest typical covered market places just off the Ramblas where the fresh fruit, fish and meat is beautifully stalled out. In other parts of the city there are more of these kind of markets.

  Palau Güell
House built by the end of the 19th century powerful and wealthy family Güell which was developed by the young architect Gaudi.
The house looks like a castle and impresses for its beautiful, creative ironwork.
