  Using the trains
Cercanias
The Cercanias are trains that connect the centre of Barcelona with the outer suburbs. They provide a good connection to the airport and are ideal for one-day-trips around Barcelona.
Regionales
The Regionales cover the different provinces of Spain. Within the region of Catalonia there are a lot of trains and the prices are quite reasonable.
Grandes Lineas
The Grandes Lineas are trains that connect major Spanish cities. They offer an inter-regional network and are more expensive than the Regionales. Nevertheless they offer direct connections between cities and are faster.

  Driving by car
The three main highways to get to Barcelona
A7 – coming from France, via Girona
A2 – coming from Madrid, via Zaragoza
A16 – coming from the south, via Valencia and Tarragona
